What does your day to day role involve?

Reviewing major applications, shaping design policy, developing briefs and master plans

 

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Providing design guidance

 

Did you have to undertake any additional qualifications to get into your chosen career, if yes please describe your route

Not beyond those needed to qualify as an architect

 

Do you think your ARCSR experience directly assisted you in obtaining your current role and career path?

Yes, especially first-hand research and analysis of sites

 

What did you enjoy most about the course?

Developing methods for analysis - in the Feld and through drawing etc

 

What are your professional ambitions?

Continue working in local government

 

In your opinion, what are the essential skills for you career?

Empathy, clarity of thought, willingness to seek new solution to old problems.

 

What is your best memory of ARCSR?

The field trip to Delhi.

 

What advice can you offer to new ARCSR students?

Keep producing. Just produce and don’t overthink it all.
